Project 6 - Simon and Rosemary Torvaldsen

Mt Lawley WA

The Problem
The new decking area was originally all grass. The problem with the grass was that a large tree in the corner of the property was not allowing enough sun light in for the grass to grow properly. Also the constant pool salt and chemicals just made the area a dead area.
The Solution

First of all 300mm of soil and lawn was removed via wheel burrow and truck. This allowed good clearance for the substrate construction. A deck was constructed using 85mm x 19mm Jarrah hardwood with a treated pine substrate. All of the decking boards where screw fixed with stainless steel screws to give access to pool pipes and also electrical light transformers for the low voltage lights if needed. The deck was coated with Lanolin for a non slip surface when the pool is in use.

This area is now such a more practical family area. The deck is a great place for the kids to cool off in summer. No more dealing with the muddy patch!

"Many thanks for our beautiful new pool decking. The service you delivered was prompt and efficient from quoting right through to completion. There were no hidden or unexpected extras and the workmanship was first class. Your team worked very quickly and was highly skilled, which from our point of view meant not only a good job done but no wasted time or money.

Perhaps the best aspect of dealing with WA Timber Decking was the high quality of the job, using only the best of materials and construction techniques. It was truly a pleasure to meet someone who did the job properly and didn’t cut corners.

Thanks once again, we certainly would have no hesitation in recommending your services to anyone wanting a top quality timber deck for a fair price."
